We spent alot of time with good friends swimming this year! Karen Lange and her daughter Sara, Stefanie Hansen and her daughter Chloe, and Carter and I had lots of fun trying out different places that were either free or very cheap. We found this pool that only costed a couple bucks to get in, and it had slides, diving boards, a little lazy river, and splash pad fun! It was a blast! .
Carter is a busy body! He loves going places, but he also loves getting into trouble at home.:)
Carter helped his dad wash the car for Father's day. I think it seemed like a present for Carter too. He loves helping spray the car and, of course, getting wet!
More swimming! We love having a pool in our neighborhood, and we swim as much as possible! It is extra fun when we all go as a family.
Carter loves building blocks with his dad!
More splash pad fun with our friends the Langes and the Hansens!
My parents took a trip to Hawaii during the 4th of July and asked if I could come help watch Chad. Only Carter and I could go, because Chris had his externship. So, before we left we had our own little 4th of July celebration. Carter loved the snaps, but the sparklers...not so much. After he got a spark in his eye, it was all over after that.
Carter and I took off to St. George to help watch Chad with my sister Cami for a week. We flew to Vegas (the airport experience was a nightmare, but I'll just leave it at that)and my dad picked us up. While we were in St. George we went to dinner with Darin, Robin, Ally, Alex, and Stella. Its always fun to play with cousins! We also got to spend some time with my brother Kyle. Kyle always gives us a little guitar concert while we are there. Carter talks about Kyle every time he sees a guitar now.:)
We had fun walking and playing with the dogs. Both Grandma Lyman and Burton have doggies at their house, and Carter is in heaven getting to play with them all!
On the 4th of July, all of Chris' family came over to my mom's house to celebrate with us. We had dinner and watched fireworks out on the street. It wasn't quite dark yet, but it was still fun. I'm boring and didn't want Carter to stay up too late. (Somebody gets cranky if they are tired.... ok, that's me too.)Carter loved the fireworks! He'd say "AGAIN!" as soon as one stopped.
Baby Jesslynn is so cute! We tried so hard to get a picture of Carter and her together... this is the best we came up with.
Somebody thought he was a dog... And after climbing in there so many times, he sure smelled like one!
My mom has a pool in her backyard, and that makes me happy. We swam with Cami, and the Burtons also got to come play one day.
I kept telling Carter to be nice to the dogs (which means pet them softly), and when I told him to be nice to Chad, he went over and softly pet him on the head too.
Carter had lots of fun playing with his Aunt Cami, teasing Kyle's dog Lucy, and playing "hide and seek". He is getting a little too good at that game. And his favorite hiding spot was my mom's closet... which was the dog's favorite hiding spot too with all the fireworks going on. :)
After our week in St. George, we traveled back to Mesa with the Burton fam. Jeremy, Lisa, and Jesslynn got to come too! It was a long trip, and we had two little ones with us, all in one car, but we made it there alive!
We went to a yummy mexican place in Mesa called Tia Rosa's. MmMMm... Also, it was just before Chris' birthday while his family was here, so we all celebrated with burgers and a cake the next day.
This is Carter helping his Grandpa dig a trench for a gas line. It was hot and dirty work, but Carter didn't seem to mind.
This is Carter's new favorite thing to do. He sits in his toy box with his toys. But most of the time he throws everything out of it first and then sits in the box.
We were getting ready for dinner one night, when Carter went to the fridge, got out a whole tub of cookie dough, and put it up on his tray. Good try buddy! :)
Oh yeah... more splash pad fun!
I gave carter a bowl of hashbrowns and eggs, and he decided it was more fun to dump it over his head than to eat it. Good times.
Overall, we had a fun summer! Chris was super busy with class and his externship, but we still had time for fun and play as a family. And we got the news of our next wee one on the way! We will be counting down to my due date: March 10th. AND counting down Chris' final year of law school! Hizzah! Lots of new and exciting things coming our way!
